Cape Town-based iMbokodo E&P is in talks to acquire a stake in an exploration block in the Orange basin close to huge oil discoveries made in Namibia by Shell and TotalEnergies, while also eyeing the potential of a Nascent and helium play in South Africa.

iMbokodo, 1 April 2021 -Global Investment company, Meridian Capital Limited has entered into a partnership with local oil and gas company, iMbokodo Exploration & Production. In South Africa, Imbokodo is a term used to describe women as rocks; the company is a women empowered and majority black owned company. iMbokodo’s General Manager, Zakithi Zama joins CNBC Africa for more.
